Learning to Trust
Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
Though he slay me.
What trust! When we can’t track God we need to trust him completely. Sometimes we won’t know why things happen the way they do. We get frustrated and even angry at times because we are emotional people. God has made us this way. With His help, we can learn to manage our emotions so they don’t manage, or control, us.
Trust is a choice.
Psa 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
We put our trust in Him. It needs to be a conscious choice. It isn’t always easy when life brings you unexpected challenges and twists.
Last Monday morning, Reverend K.K. Joy Samuel, our Indian Pastor, went to see Jesus face to face. It was a shock to all of us. Some things that happen in this life we just can’t understand. We choose to trust Jesus.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Trust is a developed habit.
Trusting takes a lot of work sometimes. It takes shutting down the doubts, questions and fears that vie for our energy and consumes our thoughts. We need to put into practice constantly the following scriptures:
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
